Numerous students have demonstrated their creativity and animation skills in the third year of the SCM Christmas Card Competition. BA Creative Media student Karina Duisenova has won the competition with her distinguished animated card, which integrated an ice lake skating Christmas with the upcoming Year of Dragon (animated work shown below). “The design idea comes from dragon and my ice-skating hobby. I like skating at the frozen river at my home country”, Karina explained when she met Prof Richard Allen, the Dean of SCM during the award presentation ceremony. Prof Allen was delighted with the high quality of works received at the competition. “The animated card entries are fabulous. But Karina stood out with her lively design. I love the dragon tail motion.” Prof Allen added and congratulated the student.

The winning design of Karina will be the official 2023 SCM Christmas greetings for the CityU community, arts community and school partners.
