SYNOPSIS

With over seven decades of history and known as "the Last Sawmill in Hong Kong”, Chi Kee Sawmill & Timber has lived through multiple transformations by Hong Kong’s timber industry, including the economic boom in the 1970s and 1980s, as well as its radical shift to processing and recycling used timber. However, when the sawmill faces compulsory eviction by the government for its Northern Metropolis development project, the survival of this successful family-owned business becomes a modern David-versus-Goliath story. The documentary is a wistful look at the unstoppable machine of urban development and an old-school business has tried to withstand the flow of time.

故事大綱

《木送》是一部獨立製作，跨越 5 年記錄「香港最後一間鎅木廠」志記迎向收地的故事。志記見證香港戰後的復甦及城市發展，走過經濟騰飛的七八十年代，九七後處理舊木和倒樹而轉型為環保的中堅，卻在新界東北發展的巨輪下，不得不迎向收地清拆的命運。 鄉村工業必然阻礙城市發展？樹木有颱風吹倒的、收村摧毁的、企業用完即棄的⋯⋯統統去堆填？而一個人，年紀大就係廢老？ 樹木無聲，默默奉獻；匠人不折，化腐朽為可愛；生命之神既唏噓又見溫暖。
