About the Workshop
The Drone Videography Workshop offers students a comprehensive introduction to the creative and technical aspects of aerial media production. Designed for individuals keen to explore the potential of drones in filmmaking and photography, the workshop covers the fundamentals of piloting and the best practices for capturing cinematic aerial shots. Participants will learn standard operating procedures for both general use and on-set environments, as well as essential concepts such as equipment calibration, safe setup protocols, and advanced flight techniques.
In addition to hands-on practice, the workshop will address the legal framework relevant to drone operations in Hong Kong, including licensing requirements and safety regulations. Students will also be introduced to post-production processes and gain insight into how aerial footage can be integrated into professional media projects. Working collaboratively in teams, participants will apply their knowledge to pilot drones and produce video content, developing the technical competence and creative vision necessary to deliver polished, professional results.
Medium of instruction: mainly English, with support in Cantonese and Putonghua. English materials are provided as supplements.
