Background

Inti GUERRERO (Bogota, Colombia) is a curator and art historian based in Hong Kong since 2011. He is currently a PhD supervisor at the Oslo National Academy of the Arts, and served as Professor at the MA Curatorial Programme of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts-KASK in Ghent (2020-2023). He has been a guest lecturer at universities and art schools across Asia, Europe, Latin America, and the United States, including Chelsea College for the Arts-University of London, Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam, and CCA-California College for the Arts in San Francisco. He has also conceived international conferences and symposia, as well as been co-editor and contributor to readers, exhibition catalogues and journals globally, including Afterall published by the University of the Arts London. Guerrero was the co-Artistic Director of the 24th Biennale of Sydney (2024) and co-editor of its accompanying publication published by Griffith University in Brisbane. Previously, he was the Estrellita B. Brodsky Adjunct Curator at Tate, London (2016-2020), and the Artistic Director of BAP-Bellas Artes Projects, Manila/Bataan (2018-2022). In Hong Kong he has curated and co-curated exhibitions at Asia Art Archive, Para Site, and Tai Kwun Contemporary. Guerrero is a fellow of De Appel’s Curatorial Programme in Amsterdam (2007-2008), having previously studied at both the University of Los Andes in Colombia, and the University of São Paulo in Brazil. At SCM he teaches 'Curating Creative Media' and 'Distributed Curating'.
