SIG Playful Media Showcase 2025 poster

This year marks the 19th anniversary of the Playful Media Showcase. Our main theme this time is 'SYNAPSES', symbolising the way artists within the School of Creative Media connect and collaborate within an interconnected web of creativity. Just as synapses enable the transmission of signals between neurons, our ideas will interact and inspire one another in this shared creative space.

BIOGRAPHY

Leung Hoi Dick, born in 2002 in Hong Kong, graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Creative Media from City University of Hong Kong in 2025, following earlier studies in Directing at the Academy of Film, HKBU. His multidisciplinary practice, developed since secondary school, explores themes of community, humanistic care, and generational identity.

Recently active across film, video production, and 3D animation—assuming diverse creative roles—Leung also engages in film education, community initiatives, and exhibition curation. Leung’s award-winning works include《做兵之道》(2017) and 《平衡》(2019), both finalists at IFVA (Independent Short Film and Video Awards). His editing work “Lung Fu” (2023) received Funding from Shaw Studios’ Creative Project Award and was selected for Festival 7ème Lune. ASP-supported “Soul Ringer” (2024) won the ASP Startup Distinction Award and was selected for the T-Short Animated Film Festival.

Currently, Leung is developing “Whispers of the Ng Tung” (梧桐細語), a mixed- media project combining comics, animation, and narrative MV, set against the backdrop of Sheung Shui. This ambitious work will be developed as a 3-year project.
