Background
With the success of “Diary VII 。 The Story Of ……” choreographed by Mui Cheuk Yin, who decided to take this meaningful project to universities and share it with young audience. This performance received the outstanding choreography and the best small venue production awards of 23rd Hong Kong Dance Awards 2022, the best dance performance by the DarkChat Awards of the Edinburgh Festival in 2023.
“Diary VII” was Mui’s stories with stray cats. It used text, props, images and agile movement to find subtle parallels between feline traits and her own philosophy of life. The encounter between human beings and stray cats as a metaphor was moving smoothly into exploring issues from social phenomenon to daily life events. Her central ideology has developed in depth through exquisite choreography and with deeply heartfelt emotions.
