CITY IN TIME: Immersive Urban Heritage in Augmented Reality

CITY IN TIME is a cutting edge immersive, augmented reality (AR) urban heritage experience created at City University of Hong Kong for the Tourism Commission. It can be experienced at 39 locations across Hong Kong. Through a remarkable blend of art and technology, this project brings the history of old Hong Kong to life, allowing users to immerse themselves in Hong Kong’s past directly from their mobile devices.

In this talk, project director Professor Richard Allen and artistic director Professor Jeffrey Shaw will share the creative and technical processes behind CITY IN TIME and how it can be applied in cultural heritage preservation. After the talk, experience CITY IN TIME in Gallery 360-immerse yourself in 360-degree environment with 3D glasses.
