The Center for Blockchain and Generative Culture (CBGC) conducts humanistic inquiry into the recent surge of technologies of decentralisation (blockchain, cryptos, AI, Metaverse). The CBGC explores how technologies of decentralisation reconfigure digital worldmaking, techno-cultures, computational aesthetics, and spatial media. The Center works in collaboration with companies and institutional actors to develop new technologies and business models and formulates policy recommendations. The CBCG is based at the School of Creative Media, one of the most prominent institutions in Asia for production and curation of new media arts. The members of the Center come from a diversity of disciplines associated with techno-humanities, arts and beyond (critical finance; creative entrepreneurship; Policy Studies; Technology Studies; Cybernetics; Technofuturism; STS; Computational Aesthetics; Creativity Studies; Curatorial Studies; Digital Fashion; Queer Theory; Speculative Design; Social Media Studies; digital and experimental ethnography).
