Alex Yiu is an sound artist, music producer, curator, and a researcher based in Hong Kong. He is currently a PhD candidate in the School of Creative Media, City University of Hong Kong. His research interest including the current deconstructed club music scene on social media, post-internet music, music oriented online platforms, online community culture, Hong Kong Underground music scene, and many others music/sound-related topics. As one of the member of the local underground club music collective Absurd TRAX, he has performed and DJed in numrous places such as XXX, OIL Club, ALL Club, Sónar Hong Kong 2019, Times Museum, Tai Kwun Contemporary, and many other venues. As an sound artist, he has exhibited at Para Site, A+ Contemporary, Burning Man by UNPOP, and many other venues. Alex releases his music under the alias Alexmalism and it's available on Bandcamp, Soundcloud, NTS Radio, HKCR, SHCR, and many other online platform.
