Background

Megan Olinger is a PhD Candidate in the School of Creative Media at City University of Hong Kong. Her research focuses on the relationship between facial recognition technology and citizenship. She examines the practice of facial recognition and the methods through which the face image can be used to reclaim rights and identity by artists, activists, and grassroots organizations. Megan’s work engages with feminist techno-science, surveillance studies and computational photography.
