PICCOLA PATRIA - Small Homeland Poster
“Piccola Patria” (2013), a fiction feature film dealing with the life of two women in the province of northeast Italy. This is a very complex reality, with secessionist groups (i.e. Liga Veneta, Lega Nord, who wished to separate northern Italy from the rest of the country for cultural and economic reasons) living side to side with new immigrants, the jobless youth and a hopeless generation of people struck by the crisis.

About the Director:
(b. 1963), Alessandro Rossetto holds a degree in Anthropology from the University of Bologna, plus a specialization in Visual Anthropology and Documentary from the university Paris X - Nanterre. He has been a professor in ethnographic documentary at prestigious European Zelig Documentary school for the past 10 years. In 2010 the New York Documentary Film Festival dedicated a retrospective to his work. "Small Homeland" (Piccola Patria) is his first feature length fiction film and was presented in competition at the Venice Film Festival.

The screening is in cooperation with ThinkYoung Audiovisual Laboratory (ThY/LAB) and the Italian Cultural Institute of Hong Kong.
