Launched in June 2010 and located at the Hong Kong Science Park, the Applied Laboratory for Interactive Visualisation and Embodiment (AliVE) is the first research facility of its kind in Asia. Filled with numerous advanced immersive digital visualization systems, AliVE is a showcase experimental media laboratory that offers unique opportunities for education, research, production, exhibition, and commercialisation. Current AliVE projects include partnerships with the UC Berkeley to produce a prototype of the Korean Buddhist Canon, and with the UC Merced to build a prototype of the Western Han Tombs. These projects provide new paradigms for data interrogation and analysis in digital humanities visualization.
