HUANG Chen (Sarah) is a PhD candidate in School of Creative Media, City University of Hong Kong. Her current project focuses on the ecological interpretation of images of plants in premodern China, especially prints and paintings with botanical intent. She has done research on socially engaged art in contemporary China in School of Creative Media. She also worked in the British Museum, digitizing and cataloging the Japanese illustrated book collection. She received an MA in art history and archaeology from SOAS, University of London, and a BA in art history and sociology from the University of Hong Kong.
