Would CityU/SCM consider OEA & non-academic performance?
Yes, the School may refer to the following information provided by JUPAS in offering admission place, in additional to HKDSE exam scores:
Do I need to submit portfolio?
Yes. If you are a JUPAS HKDSE applicant listing the School as your Band A or B choice, you are requested to submit portfolio via an on-line portfolio system in May (see “Important Dates“).
See details at “Portfolio“.
Do I need to attend an admission interview?
Yes, some HKDSE candidates will be invited for interview in July 2013.
Individual interviews will be arranged to gauge candidates’ creative potential. A short written/aptitude test before the interview may also be arranged.
Candidates who are absent from the interviews will normally NOT be considered for admissions.
What are average examination scores required for admission?
The average exam scores of the admitted applicants varies year from year, depending on the results of applicants’ public exam in the same year of admission. Strong emphasis is placed on academic performance, language proficiency and creativity of applicants.
Do I need to put SCM in Band A (JUPAS)?
To put SCM (JS1041) in Band A can show that you are very much interested in studying the programme. But SCM may select some applicants who put SCM in Band B, depending on various circumstances.
In the event that applicants have the same credentials, applications with Band A choice will usually have a higher ranking.
What is the percentage of JUPAS entrants to your undergraduate programmes, as compared with non-JUPAS entrants?
About 20% of our intake quota is for non-JUPAS applicants. The figure may vary slightly by year and by programme depending on the results of applicants’ public exam in the same year of admission. Strong emphasis has been placed on the creativity of applicants.
